James and Sandra’s Masai wedding in Galu beach was such a joy to photograph. They are such a sweet couple, true love birds straight out of university who wanted to get married at the beach. They chose Shamba La Salama to have their wedding and to also incorporate James’s masai roots.

I was in touch with James and Sandra for a couple of months prior to their wedding and they were such a joy to work work. They really embraced family and perfectly balanced traditions from both sides. I am a sucker for bright colors and was excited when Sandra was adorned with the traditional masai beaded headwear which delivered amazing color against the blues of the sea.

Traditional dancing and role play was included in the reception with gifts and speeches delivered by close family and friends followed by a delicious Swahili Biriani which went down a treat! The perfectly executed cake by Albrettes Designs in Mombasa replicated traditional pottery adorned with beads.
